Summary
“Is that a body,” Tim blurts before he can stop himself, rising to his feet. Martin looks, if possible, even more scared.
“He’s alive!” he hisses, almost defensively. “It’s not - it’s not Gertrude again, I didn’t kill him, he just – I don’t know what happened to him, I just found him in the stacks like this.”
“And you dragged him up here?” Tim says, and then registers several things at once – the build, the hair texture; the little round scars peppering a pair of thin hands and an awfully familiar face. “Wait, is that Jon?”
----
Jon stumbles back into an earlier Archive, looking for a way to fix the world. (Or, mom says it's my turn for the obligatory time travel au)

Summary
The first drawer he opens is filled with pens and unused sticky notes and hair ties and paperclips. It's completely disorganized, and he feels his heart give a small squeeze, whether in fondness or distress he doesn't know. He shifts the contents a bit, but no tapes.
The second drawer is filled with files and a handful of tapes—and wait, is that the jar of ashes, Jon?—, but surprisingly, nothing to play the tapes on, and he needs more recorders, too. Sighing, Martin closes the drawer and opens the third down on the left, and then stops.
Sitting on top, in Jon's handwriting, more scratching than letters, is his name. Specifically, there's an envelope with his name on it. He reaches for it, knowing he shouldn't but not able to stop anyway.
———————
Martin organizes tapes to save Jon from the Buried and gets a little surprise of his own.
