"He could have his use. The Council couldn't see it — they're too accustomed to their old ways, too afraid. Magic," he recounts with a greedy eye, "may serve us in this battle to come."
"But a bus boy?"
Before a hopeless twenty-four year old Jayce can be banished from Piltover, he runs away to the undercity. He's got new dreams of busing his way to glory (and sleeping his way to a magnate drug lord's heart).

Not the one the young man perfumes on at his vanity, but the fresh one that gathers in his neck after a shower... the one he wears when he comes sweating from his family forge...
Silco pauses. He pats the head pillows some. There is something, off about the woody smell. Something not Jayce.
Instead it's sweet, coffee-scented instead of tea.
This is not his smell, he realizes first.
Or: Jayce forgets to tell Silco he platonically, literally sleeps with his best friend. (Not that he thought it needed mentioning.)
