Jisung knows very well what awaits him on the other side of the door. Still, he finds he's not ready when he lays eyes on the creature properly.
It’s big and lean and sharpsharpsharp.
A monster, by any normal person’s standards. An unnatural being from the bottom of the sea. Something time forgot. A nightmare.
To this creature, he thinks, anything could be prey.
And here it is, smiling at Jisung like it's happy to see him.

"That's terrible," Felix whispers, reaching over to land a comforting touch to Jeongin's shoulder. "I'm sorry, Jeonginnie."
"Guys, just drop it– my birthday doesn't mean anything to me." He sighs, shoulders dropping down with the movement. "Seriously. Just having you all here is amazing enough."
They drop it only because he asks and no one can deny Jeongin, but Seungmin is not gonna let this go.
He'll make sure Yang Jeongin's first birthday celebration will be the best thing that's ever happened to him.
OR Jeongin's never celebrated his birthday. Seungmin is determined to change that.

Summary
“Stop it,” Chan says, not said as harshly as a command, but clearly meant as one, when he gives Jeongin that look, like his mom does when he isn’t listening, or, rather, that his alpha does when -- well. It’s unexpected enough that it sends a chill through him, down his spine, but Jeongin obeys and stands still for Chan to continue nosing at his throat. Chan inhales once more on that side, then switches to the other, and Jeongin naturally lets his head tilt away, to allow his alpha better access. For an almost abnormal amount of time, enough that Jeongin genuinely does worry about his slick, Chan sniffs, then pulls away, pursing his lips.
Jeongin blinks at him. “Are you okay, hyung?”
“I think you’re entering pre-heat soon, pup.” Chan responds instead, forehead creased.

Summary
“Gonna be looking for a while.” Jeongin’s voice is rough with disuse, months gone by since he last spoke. Since he was last home. Minho can’t help the way he shivers when he feels the fluffy tip of his ear twitch against him, Jeongin content to nuzzle into his neck. Scent marking him, most likely, even though Minho had dutifully slept in the nest Jeongin assembled for him in the fall every night. Minho will never know the intricacies of scents, not with his dull ordinary nose, but he imagines Jeongin’s impression in him has faded over the months he’s been gone. He would also imagine - well, knows - that Jeongin can smell exactly how happy Minho is that he’s back, because Minho feels the shape of his sharp-toothed smile against his throat. Jeongin says this is where he smells the strongest. This, and also- hm. He shouldn’t think of that now. He can’t let Jeongin get too eager.
Every winter, Jeongin returns to the woods. Every spring, he returns to Minho.
