In the Year of the Realm 865, nothing happens. It is unremarkable by many metrics, the slow war between Sanbreque and Waloed; Dhalmekia’s attempts at rousing more trade, Kanver forcefully continuing to establish itself. Twinside glitters, as it does, and the blight grows ominously, as it does. Nothing includes a branded imperial solider waking up in the middle of a night, and then vanishing. It is starkly unremarkable. Soldiers go missing and die all the time, of course, especially the branded, who are thrown at the front lines or impossible tasks by their superiors with glee. The soldier is forgotten before the week is over.
In the Year of the Realm 866, Drake's Breath disintegrates in a fiery explosion. It may be related.

It’s not that he’s “hung up on The Menace” as Dionysus so delicately put it. It’s just that it’s a bad idea. Awful, really. Percy Jackson’s got off-limits stamped across his pretty little forehead. If Zeus had sent Dionysus to that demigod camp over a nymph, then Poseidon would certainly toss him into Tartarus if he went near his son.

Percy Jackson chooses to go back.
He wakes up twelve years old again, at Yancy Academy, at the very beginning of everything—this time with all his memories intact, and with Apollo dragged back alongside him.
Stripped of his godhood and trapped in the body of Lester Papadopoulos, Apollo is bound to Percy by a brutal, inescapable bond: pain, fear, and emotion bleed across it. When Percy weakens, Lester weakens. When Percy steadies, Lester survives.
Percy intends to change things. Not to rewrite the world, but to reach the same ending while saving more people, breaking fewer children, and carrying less trauma forward. Apollo, forced into mortality and tethered to Percy’s will, wants the same—perhaps more desperately than anyone.
As they move through the events of The Lightning Thief, every choice Percy makes ripples outward, and saving the world starts to look very different when you refuse to let children be collateral.

Summary
Apollo was having a perfectly good morning- right up until he vomited down the side of the sun chariot. Which was incredibly strange, if you asked him, because gods simply do not get sick.
As if that weren’t strange enough, an unintended meet-up with Percy Jackson in a Target parking lot revealed that the demigod was hearing prayers- something that Apollo was actually not responsible for, despite what Percy seemed to think.
Apollo didn’t need his prophetic powers to know this was going to be a looong day. But hey- at least he got to spend it with Percy. (Which, naturally, improved things considerably).- Language:
