Summary
Sam has known he's wrong, somehow, his whole life, it feels like. Not just the weird drifter kid thing, or the thing where Dad and Dean treat him like he's not actually a part of things, but something deeper, down in his kidneys, or his liver or something.
He's just… he can't put his finger on it (is afraid to name it, to put a label on the way his gut squirms when Dean smiles at him). But he knows, okay? Knows it the same way he knows Dean loves him, the way he doesn't know his mom.

Jonathan takes a step back, like he hadn’t expected the door to actually open. Hopper glances up for a car or a parent, but doesn’t find either.
“Is someone hurt?” Hopper asks, words still slurring a little with bourbon and sleep.
The boy shakes his head slowly, looking a little unsure of it himself. God, he looks like shit, actually. His eyes are red and bloodshot. He’s panting. Hopper’s eyebrows crease.
“We need to talk,” Jonathan says unsteadily.

Summary
Jonathan made his first mistake accepting the drink Murray had given them. He knew that alcohol nullified the effects of his heat suppressants, but it was just one small glass. Declining when Nancy was so gun-ho about it would have been rocking the boat. Most importantly, he could have sworn his heat shouldn't even be due for another few days.
The only other thing that would trigger it early would be the prolonged presence of an alpha that he's attracted to. But Nancy was an omega too, right?
