That draws a surprised laugh from Max, who stares at him with wide eyes. “And you don’t actually have someone to bring home for Christmas, I take it?”
“No,” the Monégasque admits, rubbing at the back of his neck.
“Damn,” Max huffs, sounding both surprised and amused. “You didn’t give her a fake name as well, did you?”
And, well, at least he didn’t technically do that.
“Not exactly.”
“What does that mean?”
Charles lets out a groan and leans his head back against the wall again, staring at the bright Lusail sky.
He takes a deep breath, deciding he’s already told Max too much to back out now, and offers him the kind of honesty he was unable to offer his own mother.
“I might have told her I was bringing you?”

OR: Charles lies about having a boyfriend to bring home for Christmas. That "boyfriend" is Max.

Summary
Alternatively titled: The Entire Goddamn School Gives Up On Trying To Understand These Two & Aizawa is Really Tired.
Izuku and Bakugou had a long and complicated history, but most of the school was pretty sure that they understood where the two currently stood as rivals. Then Izuku's dad showed up on campus and everyone's preconceptions were mercilessly thrown out the window. In which Bakugou tries to murder a man, has a soft side and convinces his entire class the twilight zone is real.
Ft. Part 2: Turns out Izuku and Bakugou will work together willingly if given proper motivation. Endeavor showing up for a training exercise apparently qualifies. Aizawa is really tired of these children not asking for help and everyone else is absolutely terrified (and secretly very glad these two don't work together more often).

“The rules are simple: capture all five of your enemies using the capture tape provided. If no one wins before the timer is up, whoever manages to capture the most opponent wins. And as for quirks?"
Aizawa smiles menacingly.
"They're strictly prohibited.”
Or: Izuku has always known that quirklessness equates to uselessness. But as he goes through Class 1-A's training exercise, he finds everything he's believed in being trampled on.

Summary
Lance doesn’t know which of his emotions is more overpowering; the secondhand embarrassment he feels at how blatantly obvious they’re being, or the fact that watching Max and Charles in their own little world is actually kind of cute.
He realizes it’s the secondhand embarrassment as he watches Max shamelessly grin at James and proudly explain that he was just talking to Charles.
Lance has to resist the urge to roll his eyes, especially when he notices how Charles is quite literally the embodiment of the heart eyes emoji where he’s standing next to Max for his entire interview. And the beeline Charles makes for Max as soon as he hands the microphone to Lance after his P2 interview is even worse than the heart eyes.
He definitely should have been paying attention to that group chat, Jesus fucking Christ.

"W-What?"
"Izuku! Izuku Midoriya!" She yells, grabbing ahold of his arm. "Do you know him? You're Kacchan, right?"
He does. He knows Izuku from the past, from pictures and dreams, from parks of green fields, and specks of cocoa powder that sticks to the sides of cupcake batter filled bowls.
"Is he here?" Is his answer instead.
She jumps, still holding his arm in a prison tight grip. "Don't move."
