He didn't remember dozing off, but next thing he knew he was waking up to the sound of plastic wheels scratching against the tile floor. He opened his eyes to see a boy around his age standing in the doorway, leaning heavily on a portable iv drip.
[...] "A roommate!" the boy yelled, then immediately cringed, seemingly bothered by the volume of his own voice.
"Yeah, yeah, just get in here already, you're creeping me out just standing there." he kept his response barely loud enough for the other to hear, partially because he didn't want him to feel attacked, and partially to keep his own concussion at bay.

He knew then, that he wouldn't leave, or at least he wouldn't leave alone. It was rational, an irrational part of him argued, help would be comfortable. Of course he didn't need it, but how much nicer it was to be curled against a solid chest with a heart beating at a calming speed, than slumped onto the ground left to fend for oneself alone.
