“Surgery, sex, shopping, booze--she gets hooked on things easily.”
“You shouldn’t talk like that,” he muttered, loathing Bazine’s obvious influence.
Rey scoffed, “She’s not going to change. I’d know.”
She would know, Ben realized. There was a reason she had needed a social worker before he had entered Bazine’s life to offer stability. If he left her mother, she would be shuffled back into the system sooner rather than later. Ben was all that stood between her having a nice home to grow up in and something like normalcy, and being thrown into foster care and uncertainty. Ben and his ridiculously large trust fund.
“You’re right,” he said.
But he couldn’t do that to Rey.

She wasn’t sure if she considered herself a fan of Big Fill but after that first video, she had fallen through a rabbit hole of his filmography. And maybe she subscribed to his channel. Fran wasn’t ashamed to admit that she was lonely, at least to herself.
She didn’t need a relationship, she was more than capable of taking care of herself, but some part of her wondered what it would be like to have someone…help. Sex was easier when she was the only person in the equation though. Most of the time, she didn’t have the energy to show interest. She was too self-conscious to really enjoy it with another person and after a very awkward, fumbling night with Robert, Fran had contented herself with the knowledge that she just wasn’t meant to fit with someone else in that way.
There would always be porn though. Porn was safe and detached. And Big Fill…well, he didn’t discriminate when it came to his scene partners. She liked that. It allowed her to imagine that he wouldn’t make commentary on how flat her chest was or that she was too tall to wear heels.
