Buck wasn’t expecting to spend his Friday night off work at a high school festival, but here he was, standing in the parking lot with his boyfriend in line at a food truck. It was the school’s annual Hispanic Heritage Fest, and Chris had helped make the ofrenda and a table presentation about Mexico. Eddie had assured Buck he didn’t have to come since it was a school thing but Buck didn’t have anything else to do and even if he wasn’t the kid’s dad or anything, he still wanted to make sure Chris knew he cared - God knows his parents never showed up to a single thing he did in school.
