Summary
His husband had to swallow around the lump in his throat, before his trembling voice whispered, "That past versions of us did tag along on our journey here, after all. We were so young, in this picture... Do you think they'd be proud of how far we've come now, Red?"
What a silly question.
The answer was spelled right across them, in the tall mirror: a juxtaposition of their past and present, highlighting how the qualities that made their youth shine was now a burning star glowing from within each of their aged faces.
Or: when Blue was called to help Sycamore's Pokémon Research Lab create better policies for Lumiose City's newly-established Wild Zones, he and Red ended up finding a treasure they once thought was lost buried among their winter gear.
This is a loose sequel to "it's always you" that can also be read as standalone fanfic.

Summary
This year, another well-known face joins the crowd who visits Cerulean Cape on Valentine's Day. Though, the young man sets himself apart by not being in the presence of a date. The freshly bleached-ginger hair sticks out in all directions as Blue feverishly draws another Pokéball from his belt, looking dangerous as he sneers and shows every single one of his immaculately white teeth.
"Alright, who's next?" he bellows out into the crowd of people, many of which are – if at all – amateur trainers, at best.
