Trigger warning: very descriptive scenes of Gore and death('s plural) continue at your own risk, I don't put trigger warnings on most chapters.

It's not that I don't care, it's aesthetically unpleasant and takes away from the experience.
    IMO.

(Story inspired by the popular indie game Cult Of The Lamb)

Lazarus is the last of her kind. Her people once lived quietly in the shadows of the Old Faith-until the Bishops hunted them to extinction. Alone and broken, Lazarus finds herself bound by a fate she never sought: a deal with a mysterious feline figure who grants her life... at a cost. To repay this gift, she must build a cult in his name, wielding powers she doesn't want for a god she doesn't understand.

But there's a problem: Lambs don't believe in cults, nor does she. Awkwardly stumbling through rituals, mimicking the actions of others, she fakes her way through leadership. To them, she's their shepherd. To herself, a fraud.

As the weight of her pact presses down on her, the haunting memory of her species' slaughter grows sharper. Slowly, she realizes his borrowed power could be more than just a means to serve-it could be a weapon. A weapon for vengeance.

    Summary

It's been so long since other sheep roamed the Lands of the Old Faith, and despite the strength Lamb tries to portray to their flock, their flock is not a real flock. It's distressing, feeling so alone in a way they can't quite describe. Constantly surrounded by a loving following, who are they are they to whine just because they are not sheep? Who are they to complain about having power many would kill to have just because it singles them out, forces them into the position of the shepherd?
Strong, yes. But it is easy to assume one is strong handling a power their instincts fight against when you still have a shepherd of your own.
Lamb never realized how much they took for granted the praise they received from the one below after every great feat. The purr at the presence of a new warm body to talk to for a brief moment in his imprisonment.
The Lamb thought they didn't need him anymore, not after what he did. And maybe they don't, but their body most certainly does.

    Summary

The One Who Waits trusted once too many times. Every single time he was betrayed, chained, and let down from all desires to want anything from any creature.

Then came the lamb, then came the chance to trust again.

Then he was betrayed as if the lessons taught so many times in the past were not enough to warn him. He expects scorn and hatred from all that once prayed to him but why...? Why does it seem that the lamb wants him here regardless of everything? Why does it seem that millennium-long understandings are crumbling right before him?

The Lamb has a lot to say.

The lamb stood still, taking heaving breaths after the intense battle, staring down at the former god with wide eyes. And the lamb could only see one thing.
    Perfection.
