    “Sammy.” Dean keeps his voice quiet, barely a murmur. Sam makes a little snuffle of acknowledgement. “Sam, you gotta be more careful. What you did tonight — that was beyond reckless, baby.”
    He calls Sam baby under the safety of the night, and Sam presses in closer with a sleepy-kitten sound and whispers, “Okay, mommy.” as the tip of his nose trails a line down the side of Dean’s throat. Sam falls asleep soon after that. Dean doesn’t.
