He kept his voice low, but there was real urgency in it. His jaw was clenched tight. Even over the ambient sounds of a busy diner, Allison could hear him grinding his teeth, and she didn’t think it was out of anger.
Something had Marcus spooked.
Viktor sighed softly.
“Okay,” he said. “Fine. Let’s go to the alley and look at secret stuff together, I guess.”
“If this guy pulls out his junk,” Allison hissed in Viktor’s ear as they trailed after Marcus outside, “I am rumoring him to slam it in his car door.”
