Fuck, he’s gone. He’s gone, and Lo’ak, the blithering fucking idiot, sits there and asks him about–
“So, how’s Mandy?” Lo’ak breaks the silence, speaking for the first time in what feels like hours. It couldn’t have been more than some ten or so minutes. “I haven’t seen her around in a while.”

Summary
Neteyam's eyes portray something strangely familiar yet unfamiliar at the same time.
His gaze holds no malice towards Spider. Not even a bit. He didn't point and laugh or whisper to the other observing victors like others had done without hesitation. The sound of the hands of the clock ticking rang through his head as they stared at one another unmoving.
Neteyam's eyes never left his own. Amber, with specks of light green carving into a cloudy, chocolate brown. A sudden wave of recognition washes over him as he can finally place where exactly he had seen that daunting look.
It was the same look he's seen in his district. A look he too shared at some point in his life. It was a look of want.
And that look of want was fixated on Spider.

Summary
One more year.
Just one more year until Spider officially turns eighteen and can finally be on his own, away from his annoying old man. For now, he just has to put up with his asshole father (who is trying) and his dad's new girlfriend - all while dealing with typical teenage issues such as high school, complicated relationships, romance, emotional and physical abuse, drama, and maybe just a dash of sibling rivalry.
Spider can do it - right?
But sometimes things happen and when teens are pushed to their limits; they can end up doing dangerous things without fully thinking it through - especially if it's Spider and Lo'ak together.
Luckily, Neteyam is there to keep them safe.
