Shane shifted uncomfortably under the scrutiny of strangers, a familiar prickle of unease settling between his shoulder blades.
Jack gestured broadly. “And since the happy couple isn’t here…” His eyes landed on Shane and then Ilya who had joined the others at the bar, his smile turned sly. “Why don’t we draft a couple of stand-ins?”
A beat of silence.
Then Miller laughed. “Oh, you have to.”
“I think it’s perfect,” someone else chimed in. “Full rehearsal. Make it authentic.”
