After macaque suddenly left the mountain only to live back to the city, wukong is forced to gave him gifts for his recently moving, and the gifts may or not may be a way to express his suppressed feelings for his rival? Enemy? Friend? That he have been feeling since they meet.
Or: wukong is secretly a simp and gave macaque gifts acting like they don't mean anything

Summary
In the wake of a new world, MK and his friends were ready to get back to some level of normal. But that hope gets quashed when a new demon threat rears its head, and Macaque ends up broken as a result. Now MK, the Monkey King, and all their friends need to come together to help their shadow monkey, while trying to work through the old wounds that have been ripped open again
Or: What would happen if Macaque lost his memories and woke up thinking he was back in the Brotherhood era? How would Wukong deal with the old version of his friend being alive and well again? And how on earth do they fix it? (And, does Wukong even want to?)
