Summary

At long last, Ludwig finally completes his search for the third bell and the pilgrimage set for him by Ymir, but does not expect the unwelcome revelation that follows afterwards.
Left wavering from his meeting with Mother Metyr, Ludwig turns to Ymir, and misfortune and doubt give way to the opportunity for them to finally grow closer.

Summary
Ludwig returns from ringing the second bell of his pilgrimage, only to find that the fingercreeper Yuri has passed in his absence. Count Ymir navigates the grief of losing his young son, but comes to find unexpected comfort from the gruff Tarnished.
The stars may be dark tonight, but there is light enough for the two of them to understand each other better, perhaps also a chance for them to grow closer and establish a new arrangement between themselves.

Summary
It was weeks now into an arrangement they both agreed would only be for a single night. Ludwig was kneeling on the floor once again, his head resting on Ymir's lap whilst simultaneously wedged against his stomach; Ymir stroked his short hair.
It had become habit this, an almost ritual of sorts now they shared evenings and the same bed. After dressing down for the night, they would inevitably find themselves in this very position. Ludwig would eventually grow drowsy and content the longer he knelt there with his head upon Ymir's lap, usually at which point he could be persuaded to come up onto the bed proper. He would brush and braid Ymir's long hair on his behalf, and then they would settle for the night to sleep.
Tonight, Ymir decided, he would be bolder than usual.

Count Ymir pursues a more intimate relationship with the Tarnished drake warrior Ludwig, and is rewarded for his boldness. Many times over.
