The wolf stays where he’s at and for a moment Eddie feels extremely stupid for trying to communicate with an animal but then the wolf stands up- and woah he’s way bigger up close.
Eddie watches as the wolf steps closer and giggles at the wet cold feeling of his snout sniffing at his hand. He brings it up to pet through the wolf’s unbelievably soft fur and marvels at the glisten of the golden-like color even in the moonlight. “You do too, huh?” Eddie giggles, scratching behind the wolf’s ear as he sniffs at Eddie’s face. “I think I’m gonna’ call you Ozzy.”
Ozzy huffs and Eddie laughs.
“Yeah. Ozzy suits you perfectly.”

The level of care and love put into this is simply astounding. I love how flawed Eddie and Steve are and how consistently they are handled. And I love that Eddie still ‘dies’. The chapters after Eddie finds out holy shit 10/10.

Summary
After the events at Starcourt Mall Steve finds himself kicked out of his house with no money and no car. Still bruised and bloody he is left to wander through the night, hoping none of the monsters he has fought in the past come out to kill him.
It's here that he's found by a man named Wayne, who promises him a place to stay until he can figure out how to get back up on his feet.
Only, turns out that Wayne's nephew is none other than the Freak Eddie Munson, a man who has loudly sworn Steve off as enemy number one for years now.
Thrown together and forced to get along they have no choice but to try and be nice, for Wayne's sake.
What could go wrong?
