Summary
During the past year or so, Hua Cheng had been pleased to see Xie Lian becoming more and more like his old self. He was especially delighted to find that over the last few months, Xie Lian had been practicing skills from when he was crown prince: sword forms, acrobatics, and playing the guqin. It was often in the evenings after a day of trivialities that Hua Cheng would be graced by these shows.
Xie Lian, still leaning back, has a playful smile curving his lips. “San Lang,” he teased softly, but with a warmth in his voice. It was rare to see his lover so flustered. “I believe you owe me an answer.”
Hua Cheng swallows, suddenly more aware of how close they were. “Well, I was hoping—maybe—if you wouldn’t mind, that is…would you dance with me?”
