Summary
So no, they couldn’t outsource that one death. Nicky had killed more people than he could remember, but he needed to make sure of this one.
He finally sits up, putting his rifle down, and winces when his chest rubs against the weight of the Kevlar vest over his hoodie. Even if he wasn’t supposed to be anywhere near danger, Joe insisted he wear full gear. Now, Nicky wishes he didn’t. He doesn’t need to strip it and look down to know there will be wet patches on his undershirt, just around his nipples.
Nicky and Joe leave their family behind so they can tie one last loose end, but there are some side effects Nicky hadn’t anticipated. Fortunately, Joe is there to help him through it.
