Summary
"Few stories were told of Nienna, not because she was not loved, but because she was loved too much. Those elves who dwelled in Valinor knew her sorrows and did not pry at them. Her part in the stories of others was glossed over, her name whispered gently, her tale left unspoken and unrecorded. Such was the respect given to her, for all people might need pity some day.
If an exile from over the sea needed to learn, or a new child asked, they were shared only snippets of thought, memories, echoes of what was told perhaps only once long ago.
These were the things that were not said."

Summary
Vice-Admiral Holdo knew now-Captain Dameron had been demoted for good reason. She knew he was smarting over that, smarting over now being ground-bound and one of their few remaining pilots, and desperate for action.
Why, in Force's name, would she NOT explain the plan to him, or at least give him a hint that there WAS plan, there WAS a strategy, and his aid was NOT needed? He had charisma, he had influence and he was a heroic figure with the rank and file - if he blatantly didn't trust her, didn't respect her, people would lose faith in her, experience and chain of command aside. So she explains.
An AU running The Last Jedi's Resistance plot-arc from Holdo's conversation with Poe on.

The Force works in mysterious ways, which is why she can't dismiss her dreams, Han's presence too insistent for that.
Aka the one where Leia can't stop dreaming of Han, so she sends Poe out on a mission to find him. Finn gets dragged along for the ride. Post TFA. Canon compliant. Leia/Finn povs.

"Relax, Rodney," Sheppard said. "It's gonna be the TRD. Actually, in the report it's the McKay-Zelenka Temporal Retrieval Device."
Rodney shot him an angry glance. "Not now O'Neill's heard you call it the Time Zapper, it's not."

A deeply satisfying fusion of hard SF rules and sensawunda sci fi tropes that makes logical and dramatic sense.

Summary
Bilbo is left to tend Thorin as he hovers on the brink of death after the Battle of the Five Armies. Is love enough to save Erebor's king, or is this the last farewell?
"It reminded him of plucking daisy petals to the litany of loves-me, loves-me-not. Yet nothing so simple as love lay on his mind. He barely dared to think it, but his question was not a matter of the heart. It was more basic, more instinctive, and he couldn’t help but feel that with each strand of hair he tended he was divining Thorin’s destiny."
