Summary
“I promise this is real,” Madara murmurs. He shudders at the kiss pressed to his temple, broad hand gently stroking his hair, cradling his head. “I’m here with you now. I won’t ever leave.”
The pounding ache in his skull sinks its claws deeper, vision fuzzy around the edges. He can’t breathe like this. His mouth tastes of grave dirt and ash. His fingers draw tighter. The cloth feels dusty beneath his hands, sand slipping through his fingers, gritty on his skin.
This position is familiar by now. Stuck in a cage of flesh, bone, and sinew that wound its loving arms around him, that rubbed soothing circles on his back. Poison filters through his ears. It’s a slow decay. A controlled fall.
He takes a breath.
“This is never going to end.” It’s an absent-minded remark. A reconciliation of two conflicting halves, however brief. He’s ripped free from the embrace.
There is no happy ending to be had.

“I don’t think we should be letting new clans in this quickly. Everything is already so complicated,” Izuna finally said, his gaze distant and pinched. “We don’t know if we can trust any of them, but now they’re moving into our backyards? We’re supposed to break bread with them and pretend they didn’t kill our brothers?”
Madara had heard these arguments before, usually shouted, but now Izuna sounded adrift, as though his prior convictions were abstract compared to the concrete reality around him.

Madara doesn't weave a complex genjutsu. There's no need for anything beyond a simple mind alteration. Hypnotized by the swirling tomoe of the Sharingan, Tobirama will becomes agreeable for once in his damn life—struck silent, unable to bitch and moan and complain about everything Madara suggests. He'll be subject to Madara's desires, stripped of his reasons to push back and fight against.
Madara would make the man break, crack the facade he so carefully maintained.
And it would begin with this: Tobirama on his knees, stripped of pride and clothing.
