    “A mother dreams for glory for all of her children - she murmurs - but I, I dream only happiness for you” she adds. It has a tone of finality, like a dismissal.

    Jaehaerys does not reply to it. Not immediately.

    He turns and looks at her long and hard. He looks like her, but there is a softness in his features, less pointed than hers, that speaks of his valyrian ancestry.

    “Then pray, mother” he murmurs, then he turns, slams the door open and leaves, the door open in his wake “maybe your Tree Gods are less cruel than mine” he murmurs as he leaves.
