“… I’m going into heat next month,” Kaeya said, that night, when they were both huddled over the camp stove, naked under the same blanket. “I usually stave it off with suppressants, but I ride it out the natural way once or twice a year.”
“To clear out hormone buildup,” Albedo said, nodding. “I have heard that most professional alphas and omegas handle things similarly. Do not worry. I can cover your paperwork while you recuperate.”
Kaeya frowned. “It is… quite uncomfortable, spending it alone,” he hinted.
“I imagine so,” Albedo said.
Kaeya’s shoulders drooped. “… Albedo,” he tried again, “I will be lonely.”
Finally, it clicked.
“Oh.”
“Yes. Oh.”
Albedo, a beta, helps Kaeya with his heat for the first time since they started dating.
