Summary
There were only two sounds that instilled a primal horror in Hakon’s bones every time he heard them.
One was a Volatile’s scream, a sound that practically guaranteed your untimely death if you had no escape.
The second was a man’s voice, someone who had him dancing in the palm of his hands, all because he was a coward.

Summary
Leonardo has always been a peaceful man. He is not a fighter or a warrior like his dear friend Ezio, he is simply a painter.
But after being attacked by some sort of wolf-like creature late one evening, Leonardo begins having strange dreams on the nights of the full moon. Dreams of running free through Venezia, his body large and powerful. Dreams where he hunts like an animal, his senses far beyond anything he could have ever imagined, tracking down prey and ripping it apart.
But when the prey he stumbles upon during one of these dreams is none other than a wounded Ezio, Leonardo swiftly realizes that these aren't dreams at all, but nightmares. Worse, he soon discovers that he isn't having nightmares either. No, Leonardo is awake, and something much worse than some bad dreams has befallen him ever since the night he was bitten...

Summary
It's not only Caterina whom Ezio brings back from Castel Sant'Angelo. Having his best friend so close by, Ezio discovers in himself a new virtue.
As the sun began to set, Ezio took the initiative to lead Leonardo into an old bell tower, one that required no dangerous climbing to access. At the top, their reward was a pleasant observation point, so that they could admire the city in all cardinal directions. Leonardo pointed to various buildings they could see and continued to talk about them, yet Ezio only passively listened to him. The sight of Leonardo’s captivated face, lit up by excitement and mirroring the thrill of finally setting foot outside of the hideout, preoccupied Ezio’s attention. He watched all his expressions with quiet fondness, even catching himself softly smiling. Leonardo soon discovered that Ezio had fallen silent. He concluded his admiration of roman architectural ingenuity, and looked over to pensive Ezio, who had in the meanwhile descended to contemplating his feelings, and the thoughts that so heavily weighed on his heart and mind clouded his face as well.
