As Buck pulled out his phone to put on music for the drive, there’d been a text Eddie sent three hours ago—right about the time he’d pulled out of his driveway.

Because he’d been under the assumption that Buck was leaving South Bedford and going back to the loft. He’d been none the wiser that Buck was actually headed across town to meet up with Jake, who he’d met on Grindr about six hours ago. Eddie surely would’ve had lots of thoughts and opinions about that.
But it’s okay, Buck only feels slightly guilty about not telling him about his extracurricular activities at the moment, because Eddie had decided to move to Texas and only told Buck when he’d caught him looking at houses. So the easy conversation and trust they’ve been cultivating for the last six years has been cracked open and replaced by half truths and white lies.
