“Jeongguk-ah.” Namjoon’s voice crackles through the phone, highly unimpressed. Jeongguk doesn’t even need to see him to know his hyung is rolling his eyes. “You’re being dramatic again. It really can’t be that bad.”
Jeongguk’s feet stop dead in their movements. “Hyung, I’ve got a fucking bandage on my head. A sprained shoulder. A split lip. A concussion. A throbbing headache and I’m literally black and blue all over. I can’t exactly remember the last time I got my ass kicked this badly.”
Silence.
Jeongguk rolls his eyes at that, a fatigued hand running daintily through his black hair. “Exactly,” he says with a quiet sarcasm. “You’re being dramatic again, Jeongguk-ah. Yeah. Sure. Speechless now, aren’t you?”

Summary

After war destroyed the earth, a small population of humans developed a genetic shift that meant they could survive the tumultuous land left behind. In that shift, a strange phenomenon occurred that created law defying abilities unique to their kind. They were called the Deviants.
The Katharós are a group of humans that believed the Deviants were devil sent, here to finish what had been started fifty years ago.
The two sides meet when young soldier Jungkook is left stranded in an ambush that momentarily kills him. He is saved from the arms of death by Taehyung, a peculiar boy with a strange ability.
There Jungkook is forced to face the reality of a world previously hidden behind fabricated beliefs. In the new world he is introduced to a fascinating group of brothers who shatter his understanding of self in a way he wasn't prepared for.
