    Summary

    Regret is a funny thing.
For much of her early life, Glinda had believed that regret was for weak-willed, indecisive idiots. Regret was for others who could not live with their past choices, not for her, never for her. Regret was foolish, and Galinda Upland was not foolish. She never regretted anything, not until Shiz. Not until Elphaba.
When Elphaba offers to send her back- back to Shiz, back before all of their mistakes- she jumps at the chance. Only, Elphaba can read the spells aloud all she wants, but the Grimmerie has a mind of its own.
In the long-dead past, twelve year old Galinda Upland wakes from a horrific nightmare, a name on her lips that belongs to someone she doesn't know yet. Glinda the Good is no more.

    Summary

Life is perfectly pleasant (if a little dull) for Elphaba and Fiyero seven years after she faked her own death, ran away from her home and left her best friend to rule Oz alone. Nothing ever really changes in the desert outside Oz until, one day, there's a knock at their door announcing the arrival of a young boy who looks identical to Galinda Upland.

    Well.

    Not quite.

He was in every way an exact copy of Galinda.

    Except.

    Except, he’s green.

    OR

Galinda Upland's son drags Elphaba back to Oz.

    Summary

“Well, it was at that moment I realized that I might have been wrong about you. I really like you, Elphaba. And I was hoping you, well, felt the same…” he says it like it's a question.

Elphaba simply blinks at him, obviously confused by the whole situation.

    Once. Then twice.

“…Don't you have a girlfriend?” she asks, perhaps wishing he just drops the subject. She's not looking for a relationship with her best friend's boyfriend. Or a relationship with any boy for that matter.

Fiyero laughs, a bit nervously so. “Well. Yes. I was thinking we could all be together. Like, the three of us.”

    Summary

    Elphaba woke with a gasp.

Fiyero was bolt upright a second later. Elphaba was already out of bed, pulling her boots on.

    “What are you doing?”

“She’s in danger,” Elphaba said, throwing a cloak on. “I know it, the way I knew with Nessa. I won’t be too late again. I can’t.”

Fiyero leapt up, grabbing her arm. She tugged it out of his grip, and turned to pack a bag.

“You can’t. It’s too dangerous. I’ll go, you stay here.”

“I can’t,” she said. Her heart was pounding in her ears, terror choking her. “I can’t lose her too, Fiyero, I can’t.”

She thought of a stone door, and the last she’d seen of Glinda’s face. She thought of Ozdust, and pink tucked behind her ear, and the pamphlet Glinda had written in.

I hope you get what your heart desires.

It’s you, Elphaba had wanted to say, but she couldn’t just take what she wanted.

    Summary

“Thank you, ser padawan,” she said. The Queen’s voice adding an odd note of formality to the kind gesture.

The boy ducked his head, and Sabé could hear Eirtae’s wince. At this rate, he’d be lucky to make it to knighthood without back problems.

    “N-not a padawan,” he murmured.

Sabé couldn’t hide the flicker of confusion, though fortunately the boy still hadn’t looked up from his intense scrutiny of the floor.

“Oh,” she replied. “I was under the impression that was the title typically given to a Jedi apprentice.” She chanced a look back at Rabé, who offered a nearly imperceptible shrug in response. Naboo might have been a bit isolationist in relation to the wider Republic, but even they knew what a Jedi padawan was.

As though confirming her thoughts, the pada—, the boy nodded. He still hadn’t glanced up, and she honestly wondered if something was on the floor to have capitvated his attention for so long. A quick look confirmed that no, it really was just a floor. A bit scuffed, but otherwise clean. No secrets of the galaxy tucked away between its durasteel plates.

“That’s correct, Y-your Highness,” he stammered. “But I-I’m not Master J-Jinn’s apprentice.”
