Summary
Emma, never one to engineer romance, had always had an overt interest in crime. So, when a murder mystery is practically dropped into her lap, she isn't going to pass up the chance to investigate, or at least put the puzzle pieces she stumbles across together.
Written for Wavytossings in the Jane Austen 250th Birthday Prompt Fest - I hope you enjoy it, and that I've done your idea credit.

Summary
Across the room, Jane Bennet laughed prettily at something Charles said, a smile more genuine than the others he had observed that evening adorning her face as she gazed up at his friend.
This could not be allowed to stand.
The Bennets were only of local significance; they had few national connections - let alone international ones; they were financially misguided, to put it politely; and, to put it bluntly, the behaviour of the mother and the younger sisters was shameful. But they were gentlefolk, and, for the son of a tradesman, she was adequate. It would not be the rise through the ranks that Caroline and Louisa both hoped for for Charles, but it would be enough to secure their future as a respectable family.
The problem, though, wasn’t Jane Bennet. The problem was Charles Bingley - and Miss Bennet did not deserve such a fate.

Summary
This work did not intend to develop characters or plot; it did not intend to be anything other than superficial.
However, it did intend to be (hopefully) greatly enjoyed by Charle, who adores both Austen's Persuasion and characters pining for each other. Merry Christmas, Charle.
