The meeting at Sahara had run late, so Grian and Mumbo were just now doing the trek back to their bases. Mumbo’s shoulders were slumping forward with the weight of the day he’d had, his feet still dragging on despite how much he wanted to get to bed. The temptation of setting a bed down and just sleeping there was strong, knowing that he’d forget to reset his spawn at his house the only reason he hadn’t caved in yet. They really needed to make a bedroom at the shop for these instances.

“There’s no way I–” Sanji cuts himself off, his insides squeezing. He sets a clean plate down on the nearest counter. “You said I smell like lemons?”
“And honey, yeah,” Luffy replies. “Plus somethin’ a little… spicy? Yeah. Do you like it?”
“I can’t smell anything but dish soap and your stink, idiot,” Sanji says. Another plate gets stacked. Luffy’s laughter rustles bright and warm against his spine, curls into his ears. Before Sanji can get the better of his curiosity, he asks, “Do you like it?”
