Summary
Tsutsuji Hyuuga was a casual artist when her name was Lindsay Phillips, and now she doodles in the academy and writes the best poetry she can with her limited vocabulary. Things are swell, until she accidentally makes a functioning seal in class with no instruction, and in the blink of an eye suddenly becomes the biggest threat to the Hyuuga hierarchy. Then they graduate her early, and put her on a team with two career genin and a main branch Hyuuga as her sensei, right at the height of the war, and she realizes, "oh, they're trying to kill me." It's a good thing she's always lived with unhealthy amounts of anger and violence in her blood. For once it has an outlet.
Tags have spoilers in them, but not like, outrageous spoilers.

Summary
Suguha turns off the radio station playing in her room, and suddenly, Sakura's giggles echo into the wooden floors and paper walls. The older girl still dances without the music, twirling in dizzying circles as her melodic laughter escapes her. Suguha can't help but grin at the sight. Gliding forward in her old slippers, she takes Sakura's hands and gives her a smile more brilliant than the full, luminous moon.
"See," she begins, "you don't need to talk to tell me anything. I may not be as quiet as my brother-"
Suddenly, Suguha's grip on Sakura's wrists feels more like cuffs than comfort, and her smile freezes; stiff.
"-but you can still be silent as you like. I know he isn't with us right now, but, but-"
Sakura relaxes as she gets the message Suguha tries to convey to her, and a small grin replaces her awful facade.
"And I... I thou-ght that I h-had the stut-ter."

For a prompt from Fascinationex: “ninja are meant to be able bodied, but plenty of them grow to experience chronic injuries and illnesses due to the nature of their work. exposure to poisons and dodgy joints are common, for example. a lot of medicine and man hours go into keeping good ninja in working order -- but when a ninja becomes a missing-nin, she starts having to deal with these problems independently. and that's when problems arise.”
In Mist, you fought until you couldn’t, and then you got a desk job. Unfortunately “desk job” doesn’t translate well into “missing-nin.”
