Summary
Izzy is a small dog, maybe 24 pounds soaking wet. He has thick, black, wiry fur that shines in the sun after a good brushing. He thinks of it like a suit of armor. His ears are tall, and when the wind is in his favor he can hear the beagle six streets over baying at the passing clouds. Izzy peers out at the world with warm brown eyes through messy bangs that are very occasionally tied back with ribbons (when he stays still enough to allow it). In the evenings he likes to sit on the porch and growl at people walking by.
Izzy is a small dog, and he is laying on the cool concrete floor of a shelter.

Summary
Kraken Era winged au. The kraken has turned out to be too much for Izzy, both mentally and physically. Ivan and Fang are there for him, helping him run the ship and tend to his injuries. But with Izzy still loyal to Edward, there is only so much the crew can do to help. What is the breaking point to Izzy’s loyalty? Who can he trust? How will the pieces come back together?

Ultimately, this too is Izzy’s fault. They’d have more crew, if he hadn’t fucked up so spectacularly. If he’d left well enough alone instead of trying to snap Edw- Blackbeard out of his sorrow.He squares his shoulders and steps forward, jaw tight. “My fault, captain.” He says. It’s what repeats in his head, more often than not. My fault. My fault.
Blackbeard’s eyes burn into him. “A private word, I think,” He says, voice cold, and turns for the captain’s cabin. Fuck. It won’t be the first punishment he’s taken for the crew, just the most public.
Ivan’s hands flex by his sides, as if to grab Izzy and haul him back under his protection. Thankfully he doesn’t.
