“Still weird you didn’t just tell me, though. What would stop you—” Ashen cut herself off. Oh no. Aaron’s eyes slipped closed without his say so, feeling a headache start. Her sucked in breath was loud. “Are you banging the spriggan?” she hissed in the loudest whisper imaginable.

Summary
There’s something living in the wood shed.
With winter fast approaching it’s not surprising for animals to take shelter there. Last year he’d played host to a family of opossums nesting in the back corners.
He isn’t sure what’s taken up residence this year, though. After noticing his new neighbor he left out food and water, both of which were untouched the next day. But whatever is in there is coming and going. Through the latched door, even. Which signals a level of intelligence beyond the usual woodland creature. A stray kobold? Or a goblin? He guesses and leaves food suitable for either. It remains untouched.
That’s when his curiosity gets the better of him.
Or, Local hermit druid finds a vampire in his shed and decides to adopt it as he would any other wounded animal. As one does.
