“Young master,” Flins murmurs. “Why do you reject me so?”
The fae carefully interlaces one of his hands with Illuga’s, tying their fingers together with a grip so tight that Illuga couldn’t let go even if he wanted to. Flins doesn’t move away from Illuga’s face, instead moving even closer without touching, if that’s possible, but the other ratnik looks curious. “You have the ability to refuse my touch. While you belong to me by all standards, your heart, soul, and body– you have the ability to kill me, sir Illuga, and yet you haven’t. Why is that?”
Illuga stays silent.
“Is it that you haven’t considered that outcome? Am I truly that inevitable to you?”
The young captain considers the dagger in his hands.
“Or is it… that you cannot bring yourself to harm me?”
