It is then Dan Heng catches a glint of warmth in his eye, a twitch of a smirk in the corner of his lips, the echo of Yingxing’s arrogance. It’s only for the briefest of seconds, but Dan Heng sees it.
Then the moment passes, and Blade is walking away, leaving a trail of red behind him.
Aka a fic that got away from me by a lot! A handful of scenes filling in the gaps between the Loufu arc and the Wardance arc where Dan Heng comes to terms with his past, mostly his memories of Yingxing verses who Blade is now.

“I want you to meet my Master,” Yingxing tipped his drink to Dan Feng’s. His violet eyes looked directly at Dan Feng’s emerald ones.
Dan Feng raised an eyebrow at Yingxing’s sudden proposition, his expression calm but curious. The clinking of their cups filled the brief silence as he contemplated the request.Yingxing introducing him formally to his family means a step forward to deepen the bond between them–surely, Yingxing must know the weight of it. He was inviting him to a more personal and intimate space.
Despite the composed tone Yingxing gave, there’s an underlying nervousness in those eyes. Dan Feng broke off eye contact before nodding.
“Alright,” he replied. “I’ll meet him. What does a drink say?” He suggested."Yes, a drink would be nice."
“I look forward to our meeting in the future, then.” He raised his cup in a toast.
Yingxing’s grin widened, and he raised his in return, the clinking sound of cup sealing the promise of a shared future.

The only voice that was still steadily giving orders was Jingliu as she gave orders to their youngest, directing him what to do as they attended to their unconscious patient on the ground.
It was up to Ren to attend to the very gorgeous, slender-looking man who wore nothing but a huge oversized white shirt that hung very loosely over his frame brushing against the edges of his boxer shorts. His legs were bare and his eyes were wide with shock, as though he wanted to scream and burst into laughter at the same time.
This was not a sight that Ren was expecting to be received in.
But then again, Ren didn't know what was he expecting either.
or: first responder ren meets dan heng for the first time while responding to a call about a man unconscious, and continues to meet him in unconventional situations (see: ren on the job, dan heng on ((poor)) dates).

"I appreciate it, Kafka," he nods. "But I don't think a pig will be able to help me deal with the horrors I face."
Blade becomes a pet owner.
