Death is not the worst thing that can happen to a man.

Summary
Re-writing the scene in the cave to be more of what I would have liked to see in the finale. Very sad and emotional. (Creelby if you squint. They have like a few sentences.) More of a Henry character study than anything else.

"For the last time, Jayce, these are not kitten paws," Viktor spits out as he wiggles his feet, ire flaring for the umpteenth time. "They—"
Jayce keeps the smile plastered on his face as his hand comes down on a button.
A jolt of pleasure hits Viktor deep in his core, sudden like a flood as he chokes on his words, nervous system lighting up, sweeping outwards from the center to his back and legs, toes — not paws — curling from the force.
"Good," Jayce says, eyes flickering to the monitor where it'd emitted a slew of frantic beeps.
Viktor nearly dies from an augmentation gone awry.
He wakes up and finds Jayce, who fixes his botched repairs and a little more beyond that.

Twenty three year old Jayce Talis wakes up on the floor in the middle of his apartment with all his Hextech research gone, missing three days’ worth of time, and a simple message on his blackboard:
VIKTOR WHAT THE HELL? IF YOU COME BACK HERE WAIT FOR ME.
It’s possible he’s been possessed, but that’s not important; his research is missing and a few notes are his only clues. Step one is obvious: find the mystery person ‘Viktor’.
