“Something like military, huh?” Sam asks amused.
Percy grimaces at his comment, tapping his foot nervously. “Yeah… I’ve had to move five times because of that stupid file dump. Had to delete every trace of me being related to my family.”
Sam frowns deeply. “I’m so sorry Percy.”
“Eh, Steve and Romanoff dumped all the files, not you,” Percy mutters taking a sip of his tea. “And I guess it did show HYDRA had infiltrated like I told them months before I fucking quit.”
Sam winces. Boy this was going to be a fun story to tell.

“Oh, you know, I’m not very liked by some people. A little snarky, sassy, sarcastic, and basically a bitch. Sometimes people decide I’m not one for this world. It happens to the best of us. Hasn’t affected me much, just had to move four times now.” Percy was rambling he knew he was. He was also trying to make his dad less worried by joking, very poorly, about his situation. It was not working; Percy could feel his dad’s tension grow with each word out of his mouth.

Summary
Percy didn’t have very many mortal friends, not ones that he felt like he was actually friends. They were more acquaintances at best or colleagues. But never really friends. Rachel was the only one that ever really stuck, and she became Apollo’s Oracle so it was different. Sam felt different. Percy could let the most batshit thing slip, something that even with the demigod context was odd, and Sam would just act like it was only slightly odd. Maybe it was whatever military thing the man had been a part of.

Summary
Percy wasn't competitive, especially not this early in the morning. But he also knew he wasn't slow; he wasn't one of SHIELD's top agents for no reason. But this was the third time this dude had passed him, and it was starting to make him a little pissy. He was already in a bad mood anyway.
At least someone shared his feelings.

Summary
Demigod dreams were useful! They gave Percy warnings and insight on what threats were coming up. But more than that, demigod dreams were really annoying. I mean, regular nightmares sucked, but your evil grandpa sending personalized death threats to your sleep was even worse.
Although, sometimes Percy's demigod dreams were even stranger than they were supposed to be - he tended to interrupt conversations he wasn't supposed to (and didn't want to) hear. Case in point; Percy overhearing Kronos bicker with his siblings for the uptempth time.
Or; Hyperion can't decide if he wants to laugh or scream, Krios is adopting Percy, Kronos is amused, and Percy is just really tired
