Yanqing’s heart sinks. “Yeah. I am.” He wants to declare that he’s also a lieutenant, that he’s a soldier in his own right, but shame trumps his pride and he stays quiet. He doesn’t even know if Imbibitor Lunae remembers his name, but before he can hold it back, he says, “My name is Yanqing.”
“My name is Dan Heng.”
