Summary
Slender fingers find her own in her mindless grazing over Caitlyn’s skin. They trail over the top of Vi’s hand, her touch pointed and gentle where Vi’s skin is split open.
“We should–” Caitlyn clears her throat, the sound almost shy. She’s holding Vi’s hand now, thumb taking inventory of Vi’s self-inflicted wounds. “We should take a look at your hands.”
The suggestion is so soft. So tentative. And in some less hazy part of Vi’s brain, she knows Cait’s right.
It isn’t even a thought when her arms wrap around Caitlyn’s waist, pulling them even more flush together. She buries her face in the crook of Caitlyn’s neck, shamelessly breathing her in before murmuring, her voice a cracked and low hum, “Later, Cupcake. Let me have this first.”
Because there was a moment– several moments, all of them scattered in broken glass bottles on an apartment floor she never wants to see again– where she never thought she’d get to have this.
