Summary
Tsuna didn't want to be a mafia boss.
He just wanted freedom to be, to have those he considered his by his side and protected.
So when the opportunity arose to hand Vongola to someone that wanted it, someone who'd been trained to lead, he was all too willing to step aside.
But first he had to get around the men pushing Tsuna to fight literal assassins with a bare minimum of training. Luckily, he had Hayato and Takeshi by his sides, and Dino guarding his back.
Now he just had to get Xanxus to listen to him.(Or, Tsuna is a Cloudy-Sky doesn't just go along with it when the Ring Battles are initiated.)

And maybe beating people up, pushing them to become better works — it definitely did for one Sawada Tsunayoshi whose resolve shines brighter than anyone else’s.
But sometimes, beating people up and pushing them to become better just… breaks them.
Skull had tried his best to prove himself deserving of a title he never wanted in the first place. But none of the Arcobaleno ever saw that. None of them ever respected Skull for who he was. So Skull gives up.
