Maki snorts. “That kid pushes himself too hard.” Their sword stills, and finally, they turn to look at Choso. “I get it, though. He’s determined to save Megumi, even at the cost of his own life. To care about someone that much…” they sigh. “I would have done the same for my sister.”
“Sister?” Choso inquires, frowning. “I was unaware you had siblings.”
