So Mikey had accidentally portaled himself to the middle of nowhere, Oregon, but at least this mishap presented them all with an opportunity to explore more of the country outside of New York.
He’d kill a few days in this small, boring town. His brothers would be by in a day or so to pick him up, and then they’d go on their super, epic cross country road trip together.
But Gravity Falls was not what it seemed.
AKA Mikey hangs out with the Pine twins while his brothers completely fail in their attempt to road trip to pick him up, so they can do a scenic road trip back.
This is set after the rise movie and right after Ford emerges from the portal.

So here's the thing: let it be known that Robert Robertson the III is not a quitter. Despite life seeming to only know how to punch down on him, he continues to crawl forward.
He has hunted down Shroud for over fifteen years, he had rebuilt the Mecha Suit, and he managed, quite literally, the worst possible team in all of California.
But this? This might be his breaking point.
TLDR; Someone voluntold Robert to be shipped off to Japan to teach a bunch of kids. Robert and Z-Team are not okay with this.
