Summary
Shane Hollander has built himself around routine, his life blood is hockey. Struggling to understand his team off the ice and the people around him, he carves out a few silent hours to himself. It's just him and his skates. But the hard fought peace is fragile, like cracks in too thin ice. It only takes a slight impact to shatter. Shane is fighting to hold his team and himself together as everything comes crashing down around him.
Someone hacks into Rose Landry's phone in a club, they then release the images of Shane's texts online and all hell breaks loose. Shane is left to pick up the pieces. Ilya makes some choices in the aftermath that change everything. Shane decides to stop hiding and Ilya is a possessive asshole who makes it everyone else's problem. With far less reason to hide himself anymore, Shane begins to show more of who he really is behind the polite, media worthy façade. They instead find a team who are ready to fight the world for each other and a found family that has far reaching threads.
Maybe Shane can have both Hockey and Ilya. The world will just have to deal with it.

Summary
This fic lives in the spaces Rachel Reid leaves quiet. It follows Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov from the end of Heated Rivalry through The Long Game, then imagines a future shaped by love, community, and consequence.
Chapters 1–16 focus on the four-year gap between Heated Rivalry and The Long Game. These chapters trace the long, uneven process of staying in love while being forced apart by careers, secrecy, and fear. They linger on stolen moments, missed calls, private rituals, and the emotional labor of choosing each other over and over again after committing exclusively to each other.
Chapter 17 is a deliberate rewrite of a key scene from The Long Game that I couldn’t live with as written.
Chapters 18–45 imagine what comes after The Long Game in the upcoming Unrivaled era through my thoughts. This section centers on Shane and Ilya learning how to live publicly, build a community. Luca Haas becomes a vital part of that future, not as a threat, but as proof of how love expands rather than divides. Together with their growing chosen family, they confront an antagonistic podcast, TopShelf.

Summary

Ilya is 31 years old when he finds out he is a father, and his son? His son is extraordinary in ways that he could never have imagined.

Summary
Unfortunately for Luca, he didn’t think he was ever going to meet someone in Ottawa. He was the victim of having a very particular type that not many guys could live up to. He was desperately attracted to closeted, cocky, athletic fuckboys. Especially star athletes. He wanted a man that knew what he wanted, could chirp with the best, and could throw him around like a ragdoll. There was probably some pathology there about spending so much time in sports around toxic masculinity during puberty, but he did not want to analyze that any farther.
But as he hated to admit, Chloe was right. He deserved to not feel lonely, and with a little bit of effort, he could probably find someone to sleep with regularly. It might not be in Ottawa, but he was in 31 other cities throughout the season. A ton of guys in the league had regular hookups in various NHL markets. With the wine coursing through his system, Luca decided this was the perfect solution. He wasn’t ready to date seriously, but he could have some fun. It was time to build a roster.
