Like Starscream who claims that each one of his schemes is actually a part of a much bigger scheme - when it only looks like excuses for his bad temper and uncontrollable urge to bash Megatron on the helm.

    “Sorry,” the former Prime mutters, and Megatron’s thoughts promptly lag. He meets Megatron’s optics with all four of his before quickly turning away and wiping his unexpectedly pretty mouth. He fiddles with the string of his trap, catching it on one of the dentae like needles on his jaw hinges, and cuts it. “This wasn’t meant for you. I was trying to catch something to eat.”
    “… I don’t like eating mechanisms,” he feels the need to clarify when Megatron remains silent.

    Megatron comes across the Prime the Autobots mean to forget, and quickly finds out why.

    Starscream wakes up on the battlefield as a sparkling with no memories of how he got there. It's not the Decepticons that take him home, though: it's the Autobots. The feared Deception Second is now a cute, precocious sparkling with no memory of the enemies he's now living with.

    (or, Optimus found a sparkling and adopted him instantly. It's hardly the first time.)
