“No way,” he stuttered. “I'm prepping dinner.”
“So am I,” Zoro explained, taking Sanji’s earlobe between his teeth.
His reward was a breathless gasp.

Static clings to the pitch of the song on the radio, and Zoro keeps one hand on the steering wheel as he adjusts the knob to soothe it. The green flash of a mile marker reminds him that his stop is nearing.
The windows are cracked, and the scent of pine wisps into the truck cab. The brackish scent of lakewater follows closely behind, the cold mineral scent of deep water seeping into the air.
Zoro’s wedding ring glints as the headlights reflect on the sign for the trailhead. Gravel crunches beneath the tires as he turns off the road.
