That’s what this was, wasn’t it? An obsession. Disgusting, violent, ugly need to control. He rubbed his eyes, sitting up. His back was bruised from Bane slamming him against the wall the other night.
Why did he have to be so difficult? He didn’t mean to be like this. It’s all he knows. It’s all that works.
Bruce started his daily routine. It’s going to be a busy day. He was not in the headspace to play Bruce Wayne. To smile, comment, and care…and to lie. All he did was lie. It was for the greater good. It kept his loved ones safe and Gotham. Just lately. All this deception was getting to him.
Clark’s words. He truths and unyielding trust in him. He deserved better, but at the same time, no one deserved him. The pain he caused was different. Bruce shuddered at the thought of Clark falling for someone else. He may be bulletproof, but that doesn't make him any less exploitable. He cares too much. He trusts too much. He loves too much.
Why did he have to be like this? Why did he love him of all people?

As Bucky was overpowering the last robot, he stopped.Spouses?
Bucky wants to propose, but the universe thought it'd be funny to troll him again. And again. And again.
