And Ozzy was sitting on the floor, nosing a limp, dark lump on the couch. A dark lump lying on his stomach with black quills, red highlights, and charred metal shoes. Shadow shifted, turning his head just enough to stare Tom in the face with a piercingly red eye.
Tom was frozen. He couldn’t breathe. Couldn’t move. Couldn’t look away.
Then Shadow shifted again, tucking his face down into the couch cushion.----
Or, Shadow shows up unannounced, and everybody has to deal with it. Heaven knows they can’t turn him over to GUN. So they’ll just have to make do. -

Eddie groans. “I don’t wanna know.” He stands up and yanks the blanket past Buck’s smug smile and up over his head. “I’m getting in the shower,” he says from a little further away, “I put the coffee on for you.”
