The Hunted pokes his head into the castle of the Smitten and Damsel and Hero. He sees them all doing…something to one another.
The Hero is positioned strangely behind the Damsel. The Smitten has one talon beneath his eyes, wiping away oil-black tears, and he is watching the two rock into each other with the look of a predator seeing two rabbits wander right into its jaws. The Hero calls out—high, yelping, not-quite-hurt—and the Damsel makes a long, punched out sound as his hips seem to twitch in place, breaking rhythm.
The Hunted cocks his head to the side. This, he thinks, does not seem like an attack or a retreat. “What are you doing?”
The Hero rips himself away from the Damsel, who smiles beatifically down at the Hunted, crouched a little ways away from them both. The Hunted follows the trail of wet splattered across Hero’s thighs and finds the source to be something strange…
Oh. That is a penis. “You were having sex,” the Hunted observes. “Why did you stop?”

“Stress relief. Figured I was owed some.” Her lips twitch a little as she raises the bottle to toast him.
He lets out a long breath through his nose. He doesn’t need to breathe—she knows because she’s watched to see if his chest ever rises and falls. It never does. He’s making that sound just to let her know she’s being exasperating. Or perhaps it’s muscle memory locked in what remains of the original Sam Wayne’s body. Hard to say. She doubts he’d answer outright and non-cryptically if she asked.
She smiles, still holding the bottle aloft. “Come and take it from me, then.”
