this fic is so adorable!! kinda crazy to read it in 2026 and picture it being written in 2016, 2017, and seeing how far they've come. even though the boys grew up and of course some aspects of their personalities changed through the years, or got a better understanding from the public, I still think the author did a really good job describing them and it feels very accurate. I absolutely loved all the song references in this fic, and how they are relevant to the storyline. the way yoongi has a passion for producing songs and has a few of them in this universe too, also Joon and Hobi, and even Jimin. how they talk about these songs... (but it's also really crazy to imagine... there's this cypher part that hits really hard, and before I knew the song I kept thinking about ddaeng, which would have slayed hard too, but it hadn't even been released back then hahahaha) yoongi is so adorable, I can't even describe him, but it's one of my favorite versions of him... all soft and perceptive, caring, a little grumpy. jimin is just a ray of sunshine... I really love him. I also loved the side taekook and I would really love to have a fic about them just with this dynamics, because it's so interesting and not exactly something I had seen before, it made me very curious. namjin are my parents in every universe, and they're perfect, there's just no fighting it. the way Joon is always breaking things and Jin is always cooking and mothering everyone, the way they care for each other. also really funny to think in retrospect, because just the other day Jin was on a vogue cooking episode with Tae and Jimin and he is still the mother of them all? love this. also just to think that in this fic Joon could drive, and got everyone scared to be in a car with him, when he actually only got his license this year, and everyone is still scared to be in a car with him... stop, I'm gonna cry. rapline, as always, has me on a chokehold!!! all the rapping parts, the songs, the way they are with each other, how much they care and cheer on each other. guys, I'm emotional.

Summary

this fic is so good! I love this pirate au, specially at this time in life! the new album is really a good soundtrack to this 😭 I love all the characters, not just the boys, although they are extremely well developed and badass and amazing (as always). loved how Yoongi is such a badass pirate, with a bad temper and a soft heart, and Jimin is the most precious creature to ever exist. loved the concept of the runes and the powers they give and how it all plays out in the story. love taekook and namjin, and doctor hoseok 💘 they're all so dear to me...

My Taekook 💘 gosh, I really needed this fic to fuel all my fantasies about this song. it's an alternative universe, but Tae is still an idol, and Kookie is a producer, which ngl is very perfect. all the longing and pining in this fic are so precious, the way it all goes down is so real and the way they deal with everything too. I love how they get together and deal with their relationship, and the sexy scenes are so freaking perfect, I could cry 😭🤧
