After Harry’s misguided attempt at saving Sirius went pear shaped, the mystery surrounding Hermione (McGonagall) Granger’s paternity is answered obliterating her world. With Tom Riddle as her father and Minerva reluctantly agreeing to his request of keeping her at Malfoy Manor with him for the summer, she’s lost all but Luna in the way of friends. Now if only she could lose the ever present shadow of Professor Snape as easily. At least she can console herself with the knowledge that the start of the next term is only ten weeks away and then she can put everything into a tidy little box and pretend like it never happened. Or so she thought.
Turns out, her father is as paranoid about her return to school as her mother is about her summer amongst the Death Eaters. And for all their fighting, there’s one thing her parents can agree on: the only person they trust with her safety is Severus Snape, her unwanted shadow turned unwanted husband.

In a sandy bar in the South Pacific, they meet once again--he beginning work on a two decades long list of things he thought he'd never get to experience and she simply partaking in days of leisure without the weight of someone else's destiny resting on her shoulders.
Drinks and conversation give way to dinner and flirtation. Dessert carries into the small hours of the morning. And when one night of explosive connection isn't enough, things heat up under the island sun as they embark on a holiday fling.
But when the real world beckons them back, they part on amicable terms neither willing to ask for more than what was promised. That is until their paths once again cross--this time inside the walls of Hogwarts--offering up a chance at something more.

Summary
During Hermione’s sixth year at Hogwarts, she travels back to 1979. The first Wizarding War is heating up, Harry’s parents are still alive and not yet marked for death, Peter Pettigrew has yet to betray his friends, Severus Snape is still deeply embroiled with the Death Eaters and has made his way into the inner circle. While on opposite sides of the war they fall in love. As the war is coming to a head, Severus must decide if he will follow Hermione out of the darkness.
Upon her return to 1997, their relationship resumes. Previously divided by their opposing sides in the war, they are now divided by the roles they must play and the moral ambiguity of their nearly twenty year age difference and student teacher romance.
Just how much will they be willing to risk and what sacrifices will they have to make?
